Former Adjunct Professor Anthony Teo is a Harvard-trained banker and consultant turned educator. He was Emeritus Visiting Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, and was conferred Chevalier of the Order Palmes Académique.
He held numerous divisional responsibilities in Nanyang Technological University, including project Executive Chairman of the S$100 million Campus Conversion into the Youth Olympics Games Village 2010 whilst serving actively full-time as a core member of the NTU Cabinet in the troika of President, Provost and himself as Secretary to the University and Advisor. In industry, he was appointed to the French-owned subsidiary Board of Greenship (Singapore Shipping Trust), was Lead Independent Director on SGX-listed precision-manufactory InnoValues Limited, and was founding Board Member of bicultural West–East Asia’s Middle East Institute at NUS (2007–present).
His academic engagements include lecturing and supervising research case-writing requirements at NTU's MSc in Technopreneurship, INSEAD's SE Asia Executive AVIRA Programmes, Munich-based TUM’s ‘Re-Attracting Overseas German Talent’ and Air Liquide (Paris) Global Senior Executives’ Development Programme. He was also involved as Panel Chairman for various panels such as 'Building World-Class Universities, QS University Rankings & Asia Pacific Conference' and a decade-long member of QS Conference Academic Committee, Conference Provost for Harvard Business School Global Leadership Forum in Hong Kong on Pre-Handover in 1997 and Shanghai on Post-WTO in 2004, besides Emeritus Councillor of the HBS Global Alumni Council in Boston (1987–1990). Since 2013, he has been Convenor of Univer-Cities Conference Narrative and Editor UC Volumes I–V (UC2023 at Zurich) and currently serves on the Global Advisory Panel of 20 on Generative Artificial Intelligence.
Through his friendship and mutual trust with Dr Alan HJ Chan, he raised the $4 million endowment after matching to establish the ‘Spirit of Singapore’ Book Prize and biennial conference in 2022, taking his lifetime fundraising total to $1 billion.
