Adrian has been a career law enforcement officer and investigation specialist in the United Kingdom and Australia. For over 34 years Adrian has benefited from 25 years’ experience in the fields of policing, investigation and risk. Now in his third (and hopefully final) career in academia, Adrian is delighted to be travelling to Singapore with a cohort from Charles Sturt University Leadership and Investigation Master degree students and attend the panel discussion.
Like many police officers, Adrian’s operational work exposed him to all types of trauma, attending to violence, death, hardships, serious disorder and challenging work practices. Conversely as a Group Manager in a Government organisation, he has witnessed both the positive and negative effects a senior role in government can have on individuals, teams and the family.
Adrian’s areas of interest include the well-being of officers/staff during prolonged misconduct investigations and the long-term effects of grandstanding officers who do great deeds.
To sum up his career, Adrian would like to quote from Odette Churchill (GC): ”A chance has been given (to me) to see human beings at their best and at their worst”.
