Founder and Director of The Whitehatters, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) focused on community development and responsible advocacy and activism, Shahrany's impactful work has earned mentions in Parliament and been featured numerous times in the media.
Shahrany spent more than two decades in the corporate and government sectors, where she gained extensive experience in general management, with a special focus on strategic planning and execution.
Shahrany was a member of MSF Alliances for Action to strengthen marriages and family relationships and MCCY IRCC Refresh Workgroup to develop recommendations to strengthen the IRCC’s capabilities and to build more cohesive networks within the community. She was also part of the Founders Memorial Committee.
Currently, Shahrany is serving her second term as the Chairperson for Casa Raudha, a crisis shelter for abused women and children. She is also a board member with the National Council of Social Services; an ExCo member for Unleash The Roar, a national movement which aims to raise the levels of Singapore football; an advisor with PEGUAM, a society for Muslim legal professionals and those with legal backgrounds; and a management board member with the Al-Falah Mosque.
