Inspiring Others to Make a Difference

Yi Jin's journey towards academic and personal growth took an unexpected turn when he and his team embarked on Project MindsCraft, a collaborative initiative with MINDS Hub. This project, aimed at empowering the disabled community, presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities for the SUSS students.

"Being the first time SUSS undertook such a collaboration, we felt a responsibility to represent the university positively," Yi Jin recalls. "Our goal was clear: to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others."

As the team delved into Project MindsCraft, they encountered unforeseen obstacles. "We had to constantly adapt our plans to overcome various limitations and restrictions," he explains. "These challenges, while frustrating at times, taught us valuable lessons in resourcefulness and adaptability."

Yi Jin emphasises the importance of teamwork and effective communication throughout Project MindsCraft. "We relied heavily on each other for support and guidance," he shares. "Open and honest communication within the team and with our stakeholders was crucial for Project MindsCraft's success."

The recognition of their efforts through the prestigious RAISE Award was a significant milestone for Yi Jin and his team. "This award not only validated our hard work but also highlighted the importance of community engagement in our education," he reflects. "It reinforced the university's commitment to preparing students for the complexities of the real world – the VUCA environment."

Yi Jin believes that success is a multifaceted journey that requires perseverance and a growth mindset. "There are no shortcuts," he emphasises. "It's about consistent effort, unwavering belief in your goals, and continuous learning." He encourages fellow students to embrace challenges and explore opportunities to make a positive impact on society.
