Juggling Responsibilities, Rekindle A Passion:
Jaren’s Journey of Resilience and Growth

Jaren’s journey to receive the SUSS Colours Award is an inspiration to anyone who has ever dreamt of reigniting a passion. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, time management, and the unwavering support of family.

“Every accomplishment, big or small, is a cause for celebration.”

After a 12-year break, Jaren felt a compelling desire to revisit his love for archery. This wasn't just about personal fulfillment; it was also about inspiring his children and showcasing his skills to his peers. Jaren's commitment is even more remarkable when considering his demanding schedule. He juggles a full-time job, part-time postgraduate studies, part-time practicum placements, volunteer work, and fatherhood to three (soon to be four!) boys.

Jaren's age doesn't define him. He uses it as an advantage, demonstrating to his fellow students and archery competitors that dedication and hard work can lead to success regardless of age. He also prioritises creating lasting memories with his children, fostering a love for sports and perseverance that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Jaren's ultimate goal is to become part of the national archery team. This ambition fuels his training and competition spirit. However, he doesn't lose sight of the present. He cherishes every training session and competition, celebrating each step forward as a victory in itself.

Jaren's definition of success is both profound and personal. He emphasises that success is unique to each individual. Every milestone, big or small, deserves recognition. With each success, we grow, gain confidence, and become better equipped to tackle even greater challenges.

Jaren reflects: "Create and own your success; you owe it to yourself." This powerful message resonates deeply, serving as a reminder that achieving our goals requires initiative, dedication, and the belief that we are worthy of success.
