Professor Eddie C.Y. Kuo is Founding Director of Centre for Chinese Studies @SUSS and Professor Emeritus and Founding Dean (1992-2003) of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and a former member of the NTU Council (2003-06).

He is the founding editor of Asian Journal of Communication (1990-2010), and has served on the editorial/advisory boards of The Information Society (USA), Telematics and Informatics (The Netherlands), Journal of Asia-Pacific Communication (USA), Journal of Development Communication (Malaysia), Journal of International Communication (Australia), and Mass Communication Research (Taiwan).

He was formerly Head of Sociology Department from 1986 to 1990, Director of the Centre for Advanced Studies from 1986 to 1988 and Director of the Mass Communication Programme 1990 to 1995 at the National University of Singapore.

郭振羽教授是新跃中华学术中心的首位主任、南洋理工大学终身荣誉教授。

郭教授于1990年创办英文《亚洲传播学刊》 (Asian Journal of Communication) ，并担任主编至2010年。2000-04年曾任国际媒体传播研究学会（IAMCR）副会长；现任亚洲媒体信息中心（AMIC）荣誉会长。2007年获颁AMIC《亚洲传播奖》 (Asian Communication Award)，2011年荣获《星云真善美海外传播贡献奖》。郭教授在教学研究之余，也积极参与公共服务，曾荣获新加坡总统颁发公共服务奖章及公共行政（银）奖章。
