Veena is a professional counsellor and psychoeducator with more than 15 years of experience working with persons with mental health and addiction issues. Her qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (University of Western Australia) and a Master’s degree in Counselling (Monash University).
Veena currently serves as Outreach Manager in charge of the Children and Youth Department with Caregivers Alliance Limited. She leads a team of Programme Managers offering psychoeducation and emotional support to young caregivers of persons afflicted with mental health issues. She and her team work closely with Institutes of Higher Learning such as Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore University of Social Sciences and Nanyang Polytechnic. Veena is also passionately involved in developing curriculum of psychosocial educational programmes to address the much-needed service gaps in the community.
