Synopsis

The impact of aviation on the environment is of great importance to all stakeholders. Public concern about climate change and its associated environmental and societal consequences calls for regulation and multiple improvements to the aviation sector’s sustainability performance. AVM357 Sustainable Aviation introduces students to various topics related to sustainable aviation, including noise, alternative fuels, climate change, and lifecycle environmental impact and assessment. In addition, students will gain a solid overview of actions and mitigation measures to reduce the impact of aviation on global climate and the airport environment. The module will use real-world case examples to illustrate trends of sustainable aviation, alongside the latest developments and scientific research.
