Relevance of Course to employment/upskilling/reskilling

By developing strong Chinese writing skills across descriptive, narrative and persuasive genres, CCC103 enhances students’ ability to communicate effectively in professional and public settings. The course’s focus on professional, journalistic, creative and academic writing supports employability in fields such as media, business, education and the public sector. Its emphasis on style, structure, audience awareness and cultural context equips learners to produce clear, audience-appropriate Chinese texts such as reports, proposals, marketing materials and professional correspondence. In an era of increasing automation and generative AI, the course strengthens higher-order human skills—critical thinking, cultural judgment, originality and ethical communication. These skills enable reskilling for roles requiring Chinese proficiency and upskilling for career advancement in Singapore’s bilingual and multicultural economy.
