Synopsis
This course aims to acquaint students with theoretical concepts and empirical practices of educational assessment. In this course, students will explore the purposes and strategies of educational assessment. Through a thorough examination of critical considerations in educational assessment, students will learn to critique the quality of an assessment, mitigate possible sources of assessment bias, examine the pros and cons of different assessment types, design assessments, and use assessment results properly. By the end of the course, students will develop the necessary knowledge and skills to propose an assessment approach that is fit for purpose.
