Synopsis

Law is an integral part of daily life, yet many people have only a limited understanding of how it works. This course aims to equip students with a foundational understanding of Singapore’s legal system and the laws most relevant to the everyday experiences of a layperson. With this knowledge, students will be better able to understand their own rights and responsibilities, as well as those of others, and make more informed decisions in both personal and professional contexts. In this course, students will be introduced to the legal system in Singapore, and a number of laws that every person in Singapore should be familiar with. Students can expect to learn with the use of real-life cases, case studies, and practical examples on the application of the law in Singapore.
