MIP598 Internship in Intellectual Property is a structured, experiential learning course that complements the academic rigour of the MSMIP/MSMIP-A programmes. It aims to provide students with a coordinated and supervised opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional setting. Students will spend a designated period (e.g. 6 months) working under the supervision of experienced IP professionals. The internship will involve practical tasks related to IP law, IP management or IP technology, allowing students to develop essential professional skills. Students will be required to maintain a log of their activities, complete assigned projects, and deliver a final presentation summarising their learning experiences and insights. The course also includes periodic check-ins with the academic supervisor(s) to ensure alignment with learning objectives. By the end of the internship, students will have honed their professional skills, gained industry exposure, and developed a nuanced understanding of the IP ecosystem.
