Synopsis

BPM598 Built Environment Internship is a 10-credit unit course offered under the MBE programme and may be taken as part of the Graduate Unrestricted Electives (UNE500). The internship is expected to be completed over six months and provides students with the opportunity to apply and integrate the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired during their MBE studies in an authentic workplace setting. Through structured industry exposure, students will gain practical insights into the built environment sector and strengthen their workplace readiness, professional confidence, and understanding of real-world industry practices. Internship roles are expected to be related to key areas within the built environment discipline, including construction management, project management, facilities management and quantity surveying. As part of the course assessment, students are required to submit an internship report documenting the work undertaken, skills developed, learning gained and professional experience acquired during the internship period, including reflections on how the experience supports their academic, professional and career development.
