Synopsis
Adolescents and youth with disabilities often face a range of health and functional challenges, making it difficult for them to perform various activities of daily living without assistance. Many experience difficulties in communication and understanding, which can limit their participation in community and social activities. Like their peers without disabilities, they encounter numerous challenges associated with the adolescent years. Without appropriate support, these circumstances can contribute to the development of mental health issues. This course explores the common needs and challenges faced by this group, as well as strategies for providing effective support.
