Synopsis
ECC503 Curriculum and Instructional Research in Early Childhood Education provides an overview of curriculum development and teaching research in the field of early childhood education. It introduces methods for defining the knowledge domains of kindergarten curriculum, discusses the concept of kindergarten curriculum and its relationship with teaching and learning, guides learners to understand practice-oriented curriculum research orientations and paradigms, follows the perspective of curriculum history, grasps the theories behind curriculum models and cases, and develops self-awareness and abilities to reflect on and analyse curriculum and teaching. Students will also explore theories, practices, and methods for designing effective curriculum and teaching strategies. Through a combination of theoretical research, practical application, and research projects, students will develop critical evaluation skills and enhance the knowledge and skills required for early childhood education planning.
