Synopsis

This course introduces students both the theoretical and practical aspects of 3D modelling using the Open-Source software Blender. The course is lab-based and students will have ample opportunity to learn 3D modelling design through hands-on practice. At the end of the course, students will possess the fundamental skills in using Blender to design 3D models. The curriculum incorporates contemporary perspectives on creativity, originality, and the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in design. While AI tools can rapidly generate models, achieving usable, production-ready assets still requires a robust foundation in manual creation. This course bridges that gap by equipping students with the essential foundational knowledge needed to clean up, optimize, and refine 3D models effectively.
