Course Code: SWK512
Synopsis
SWK512 Social Work Practicum and Field Seminar is a series of seminars and workshops designed to facilitate the preparation of students for their social work practicum while also providing a platform for the assessment of their progress during this experiential learning phase. Participants are expected to engage in reflective practice by processing, analysing, and discussing their experiences within the agencies to which they have been assigned. The primary objective is to integrate theoretical frameworks and knowledge acquired in previous courses with the practical experiences encountered during the practicum. In the seminars, students are encouraged to share their experiences to foster cross-learning from a variety of social work contexts and settings. Furthermore, students are required to provide evidence of their ability to apply the theories and values of social work in their practical engagements.
