Synopsis

TSL 509 TESOL Curriculum provides students with an insight into the approaches, principles and processes of language syllabus design and curriculum development in the Digital Age. Firstly, the course gives an overview of various approaches, and highlights the distinction between syllabus design and curriculum development. Secondly, the various processes of curriculum development are examined critically. Thirdly, this is followed by a careful consideration and critique of various curriculum documents. Finally, implications for the development of curriculum documents of direct relevance to course participants’ teaching contexts are explored in detail.

Dr. Willy A. Renandya

Dr. Willy A. Renandya is a TESOL expert with many years of teaching experience across Asia, including in Singapore, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty at NIE Singapore, Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), and Wuhan University (China). He has delivered over 100 keynote presentations at global TESOL conferences and published his research in many well-known international TESOL journals. His publications are available on his Google Scholar Profile.
