Eligibility

Covers all matriculated SUSS students (both full-time and part-time) for overseas trips and programmes approved by the University. 

Validity

01 January 2024 (at 12.01am) to 01 January 2025 (at 12.00am)

 

Students must declare their travel plans and make payment to SUSS before they can set off for the trip.

  • For programmes under Student SUcceSS Centre (SSC) and College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning (CIEL), students should notify and make payment arrangements via the Programme Staff.
  • For other programmes, students must inform Office of Global Programmes (email: ogp@suss.edu.sg) at least 1 month before start date of the trip.

 

The insurance premium rates per day is as stated in the table below:

Students must state their name, PI no. & purpose when making payment to SUSS. An official receipt from SUSS can be retrieved from Student Portal 4 days from the payment date.

COI will be issued upon request. Please inform your Programme Staff IC, should you require a COI for the purpose of applying for travel visa and seeking other approvals, required by the country of your travel. It will take 7 working days to process your COI.

Your claims must be submitted within 30 days of the occurrence of any event. Claim submissions are made via Chubb online portal  www.chubbclaims.com.sg. An introduction to the use of Chubb’s online claim portal can be downloaded here. Before submitting your claims, please take time to familiarize yourself with the claims guidelines process here. To enable smooth processing of your claim, please ensure all required information is provided, and all documents are uploaded during the online claims process.

For appeal of unsuccessful claims, please email Ms Jennifer Candido (DID: 6922 8204) jennifer.candido@marsh.com of Marsh Insurance Broker. Marsh Insurance Broker is the appointed Insurance Broker for the University student travel programmes.

Call the ISOS Travel Assistance when you face medical emergencies, lose your travel documents, have security concerns, require tele-medical consultation, or need assistance navigating healthcare systems while traveling internationally.

To set up your ISOS app account:

  • Key in your personal details (Enter name as per passport name, middle name to be included in the first name). Last Name = Family Name or Surname.
  • Ensure that you key in your SUSS email address as this is how you are recognized on the system.
  • In order to activate your account, please click on the link provided in the email and it will only be active for 24 hours.
  • Your password must be at least 6 characters and must contain at least and one special character [^&+=@#$%_].
  • Ensure that notifications are switched on to receive essential alerts for your country/region.
  • Continue to check your mobile & SUSS email accounts as emergency alerts may be sent to you, requiring your response.

a) Which of my trips will be covered by the SUSS Student Travel Insurance?

All students travelling overseas for activities or purposes approved, endorsed, organised, sponsored or authorised by SUSS will be covered by the SUSS Student Travel Insurance. Such trips shall be referred to as "Authorised SUSS Student Trips" in short for the purpose of this policy. Trips must commence and end in Singapore and shall not exceed consecutive 365 days in all (inclusive of 60 cumulative days of Personal Deviation immediately before and/or after an Authorised SUSS Student Trip).

 

b) Can I purchase my own personal travel insurance in lieu of SUSS student travel insurance?

All students travelling for overseas activities or purposes approved, endorsed, organised, sponsored or authorised by SUSS must be covered by the SUSS Student Travel Insurance. Only SUSS Student Travel Insurance works with ISOS to facilitate overseas emergency assistance service, which is critical to ensure students’ safety. You can opt to purchase additional personal travel insurance should you wish to.

 

c) What is the definition of SUSS Students? 

All undergraduates (UGs), Postgraduates (PGPs & PGRs) & Non-Graduating (NGs) students.

 

d) What do I have to do to be covered under the SUSS Student Travel Insurance?

  • Students must make full payment to SUSS based on the travel itinerary for the travel insurance plan before trip commencement.
  • For programmes under Student SUcceSS Centre (SSC) and College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning (CIEL), students should notify and make payment arrangements via the Programme Staff.
  • For other programmes, students must inform Office of Global Programmes (email: ogp@suss.edu.sg) at least 1 month before start date of the trip.

 

e) Can I be refunded for the travel insurance if I decide to cancel or cut short my overseas trip?

No. Payment made is non-refundable.
