Eligibility

Covers all matriculated SUSS students (both full-time and part-time) for overseas trips and programmes approved by the University. 

Validity

1 December 2021 to 31 December 2023

Students must declare their travel plans and make payment to SUSS before they can set off for the trip.

  • For programmes under Student SUcceSS Centre (SSC) and College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning (CIEL), students should notify and make payment arrangements via the Programme Staff.
  • For other programmes, students must inform Office of Global Programmes (email: ogp@suss.edu.sg) at least 1 month before start date of the trip.

 

The insurance premium rates per day is as stated in the table below:

Students must state their name, PI no. & purpose when making payment to SUSS. An official receipt from SUSS can be retrieved from Student Portal 4 days from the payment date.

Upon student's travel declaration, a COI will be issued after 15 to 21 working days to help the student apply for the necessary travel visa and other approvals that is required by the country of travel. 

Claims documents may be submitted via the link here within 30 days of the occurrence of any event (key in policy number & claims information/details) together with scanned receipts and other supporting documents to make the claim.

a) Which of my trips will be covered by the SUSS Student Travel Insurance?

All students travelling overseas for activities or purposes approved, endorsed, organised, sponsored or authorised by SUSS will be covered by the SUSS Student Travel Insurance. Such trips shall be referred to as "Authorised SUSS Student Trips" in short for the purpose of this policy. Trips must commence and end in Singapore and shall not exceed consecutive 365 days in all (inclusive of 60 cumulative days of Personal Deviation immediately before and/or after an Authorised SUSS Student Trip).

b) What is the definition of SUSS Students? 

All undergraduates (UGs), Postgraduates (PGPs & PGRs) & Non-Graduating (NGs) students.

c) What do I have to do to be covered under the SUSS Student Travel Insurance?

  • Students must make full payment to SUSS based on the travel itinerary for the travel insurance plan before trip commencement.
  • For programmes under Student SUcceSS Centre (SSC) and College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning (CIEL), students should notify and make payment arrangements via the Programme Staff.
  • For other programmes, students must inform Office of Global Programmes (email: ogp@suss.edu.sg) at least 1 month before start date of the trip.

d) Can I be refunded for the travel insurance if I decide to cancel or cut short my overseas trip?

No. Payment made is non-refundable.
