About the Award

The Steven Lim–SUSS Entrepreneurship Award recognises outstanding SUSS students and recent alumni who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, resilience, and commitment to creating positive impact through entrepreneurship.

Established through the generous support of Dr Steven Lim, Group CEO, Owner and Founder of RSTN Consulting, the award celebrates individuals who have identified opportunities, overcome challenges, created value for others, and contributed meaningfully to society through their entrepreneurial journeys. Recipients may include founders of startups, social enterprises, businesses, or initiatives that demonstrate innovation, perseverance, and the potential for sustainable impact.

Each year, up to three award recipients may be selected to receive a cash prize and a certificate presented at the SUSS Convocation. Beyond recognising entrepreneurial achievements, the award aims to inspire the SUSS community to pursue innovation, embrace challenges, and create solutions that make a difference in Singapore and beyond.

Eligible applicants include SUSS students graduating in the year of the award and alumni who have graduated within the past three years.

2025 Steven Lim - SUSS Entrepreneurship Award

Dennis Ooi, President of the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) and founder of the Esports Academy, demonstrates strong entrepreneurial leadership through his efforts to grow Singapore’s esports ecosystem and create opportunities for youth development. He has secured over S$1 million in funding to support large-scale initiatives such as Campus Legends and Campus Game Fest, which have engaged thousands of participants and fostered a vibrant esports community. Through strategic partnerships, fundraising, and programme development, Dennis has contributed to job creation, talent development, and community engagement, while leveraging esports as a platform for education, leadership, and positive social impact.

Who is eligible to nominate?

All SUSS faculty, staff, students and external parties (e.g. investors or business partners of nominated students) are invited to submit nominations for this award. Nominators have to complete this nomination form, and where applicable, provide supporting evidence(s). Nominees will be informed of their nomination and who nominated them.

*Note: Nominated Students MUST be graduating and will be participating in the upcoming Convocation.

What happens after nomination?

A selection committee, comprising SUSS faculty/staff, will review all submitted nominations. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to an interview by a panel (that may include relevant external parties), who will select the final award recipients.

What is expected of the winners?

Award winners are expected to fulfil certain responsibilities, such as performing the duty of SUSS advocates and supporting the SUSS Entrepreneurship programme and activities.

Steven Lim

Mr Steven Lim co-founded RSTN Consulting in 1997, which offers business process management and enterprise content management solutions. 

He is also a winner of the National Achievers Award and an influential figure in the IT industry. During his entrepreneurship journey, he has always felt strongly about giving back to the society.
