SUSS Children's Science Camp

Here at SUSS, our undergraduate and postgraduate early childhood education (ECE) programmes are founded on constructivist educational principles, promoting playful and inquiry-based teaching and learning processes. We support young children's development as curious discoverers and eager problem-solvers. Built on the same constructivist approach of our ECE programmes, the SUSS Science Camp will be an experiential day camp located on SUSS campus. Our programme has been designed to engage Primary 1 and Primary 2 children in playful, physically active and inquiry-based exploration and learning.

    About

The camp aims to build Primary 1 and Primary 2 children's foundation skills needed to tackle science in later primary school years. Through group games, engaging with concrete materials and reflective group discussions, our objectives are:

    1. Support the scientific thinking skills of children, who are naturally inclined to examine and explore the world around them

    2. Cultivate a love for science and math

    3. Develop children's critical and creative thinking, their ability to reflect and analyse, and to nurture in them a collaborative outlook

    4. Nurture a renewed sense of wonder, knowing that science is out there in their everyday world

    5. Create joy in learning alongside others
