Synopsis of the Talk

Can Singapore really feed itself in a world of climate shocks, geopolitical tensions, and fragile supply chains? This session examines global food security risks and Singapore’s evolving strategy to stay resilient. Participants will also explore how food security is becoming a vital public safety and security career pathway, from safeguarding essential supply chains to strengthening crisis response and national preparedness.

Speaker's Biodata

Ms. Beatrice Tan is an educator and sustainability advocate with expertise in food security and systems thinking, drawing on over two decades of leadership experience in higher education and public service. She co‑founded Mykilio, recognised by the inaugural SGEco Fund for its ecological and social impact. Her work integrates systems thinking and real‑world scenario analysis to strengthen resilient, future‑ready food systems.
