About
The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development "provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future". Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), one in particular, goal 4 is focussed on quality education, whilst the sub-goal 4.7 highlights key strategies for "strengthening education's contribution to the fulfilment of human rights, peace and responsible citizenship from local to global levels, gender equality, sustainable development and health". Early childhood is the time of life when foundational dispositions are instilled and is also a period when teachers have frequent interaction with children's families. Early childhood teachers can therefore play a key role in furthering the agenda for sustainable development. This interactive workshop will focus on understandings that teachers of young children, two months to six year of age, can apply in their work.
