The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) – a member of the Workplace Safety and Health Institute (WSHI) in Higher Education and Research Workgroup – participated in the exhibition section of the World Safety Congress (WSC) held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre from 3 to 6 September 2017. Alongside other members of WSHI, the SUSS team, led by School of Science and Technology (SST) senior lecturer Mr Stephen Low, contributed to the exhibition by displaying four posters on working structure and safety training initiatives, which served to inform the public of the important roles of the WSHI nationally. One of the posters described the Higher Education and Research (HER) group’s terms of reference, structure and achievements, while the other three posters focused on the Education
SST also publicised the courses and programmes it offered, specifically those related to human factors and workplace safety and health. The exhibition created a healthy public awareness of the functions of WSHI and provided a platform to showcase the availability of workplace safety and health/human factors programmes at SUSS.
