The SUSS Judo Team had an exceptional start to 2025, showcasing skill, determination, and growth in competition. In January, the team participated in the Kyu Grade Championship with 11 members, securing 1 gold and 1 silver. This success showcased their continuous improvement in technique, strategy, and team dynamics. In March, they competed in the Judo Inter-Tertiary Championship with 6 student-athletes, claiming 1 gold and 2 bronze medals, further demonstrating their development and determination.
The team’s achievements reflect both individual growth and a stronger collective spirit. Their dedication, rigorous training, and focus on technique have set a solid foundation for future success.

Nur’Idrus Bin Yusof, Year 3 Digital Media student and Captain of Judo Competition Group, shared that while the nerves from previous competitions lingered, his confidence grew as the tournament progressed. Despite losing in the third round, he felt it was an improvement from his last competition.
Chin Syn Yi Cheri, Year 1 Accountancy student and Secretary of Judo CG, highlighted that it was the team's perseverance that led them to securing the bronze and gold medals, and the camaraderie that made the experience even more meaningful.

William Lai Heng San, Year 1 Building and Project Management student and Head of Logistics, found the competition challenging but rewarding – ultimately winning a gold medal. He appreciated the sense of community fostered through cheering each other on.
Lim Sing Bei, Year 4 Marketing student, reflected on winning gold at the Kyu Grade Championship, marking a significant milestone in his judo journey, and recognizing his growth both as an athlete and as an individual.

Despite only having six members participating in the ITC 2025, the Judo team showed immense commitment, supporting each other throughout their preparation for the prestigious inter-tertiary competition. Their hard work paid off, with the team returning with three medals. This success highlights the strength of teamwork and focus, even when the team size is small.
