Thanks to the collaborative efforts of AIC, SUSS Alumni, SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Program and community partners, the Drums Up for Active Ageing (Certified Trainer) course was launched on 28 Aug 2025!
Founded in 2023 through a collaboration between SUSS and National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), the Drums-Up for Active Ageing programme blends rhythm, movement, and fun to promote physical agility, cognitive capacities, and social bonding among seniors. Recently spotlighted by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during his 2025 National Day Rally, this “cardio drumming” is rapidly gaining traction among seniors and community partners due to its proven benefits.

This train-the-trainer course, presented in a blended learning format, enables learners to contribute to collective social impact through collaboration with community partners in active ageing space. It is ideal for current Active Ageing Centres (AAC) trainers as well as aspiring trainers looking to learn exercise ball drumming and make a meaningful social contribution.
