Drums Up for Active Ageing (Certified Trainer) Course Chinese


Following the successful launch of the Drums Up for Active Ageing (Certified Trainer) course in August 2025, SUSS Alumni and SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Program are thrilled to debut the Chinese version of the course. This adaptation, developed in partnership with National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), aims to engage Chinese-speaking learners with the same tailored, engaging content. 


The Drums Up for Active Ageing  (Certified Trainer) course was first created amidst the growing popularity of the Drums-Up for Active Ageing programme. A collaborative initiative between SUSS and National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) in 2023, the Drums-Up for Active Ageing programme combined movement, rhythm and enjoyment. The certification of trainers helps promote this popular rhythmic drumming programme in the community, encouraging the enhancement of physical agility, cognitive abilities and social connections among seniors.

Offered in a blended learning format, Drums Up for Active Ageing  (Certified Trainer) course includes a practicum to be completed on the ground.This course is ideal for current Active Ageing Centres (AAC) trainers as well as aspiring trainers looking to learn exercise ball drumming and collaborate with community partners to conduct the drumming programme.

With the certification course now available in Chinese, more senior trainers in the Chinese-speaking community can participate in the program’s outreach.
