On 28 December 2025, members of SUSS Boxing and SIT Boxing came together for a joint training session to enhance competitive readiness and strengthen inter-university connections within the boxing community. The collaboration was organised to prepare student-athletes for varsity-level competitions, including the upcoming NUS Varsity, by exposing participants to various training styles, techniques, and sparring partners in a structured, supportive environment.
The training began with a collective warm-up, followed by four structured rounds of shadow boxing. Each round reinforced different boxing fundamentals while allowing participants to build confidence and composure progressively. A key highlight of the session was the partner rotation, in which participants from SUSS and SIT were paired for timed rounds, switching partners after each round. Participants were challenged to quickly read new movement patterns, adjust timing, and respond to varying styles -- key skills in competitive bouts. This format maximised exposure to different opponents and sharpened adaptability while maintaining a controlled, safe training environment. Beyond physical training, the session also provided opportunities for participants to interact, exchange feedback, and build mutual respect across institutions.
Overall, the SUSS Boxing x SIT Boxing collaboration was a meaningful step towards building a stronger inter-university boxing community. It demonstrates how joint training initiatives can enhance competitive preparedness while fostering camaraderie, collaboration, and shared growth among student athletes.
