SUSS Boxing Interest Group (IG) recently partnered with HCSA Dayspring, an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable teenage girls, to host a Box & Fit Community Workshop that went beyond physical fitness.
Held at HCSA Dayspring, the workshop provided teenage girls with a safe and supportive environment to explore boxing as a form of movement, self-expression, and empowerment. Rather than focusing on competition, the session emphasised teamwork, resilience, and positive engagement – demonstrating how sports can be a meaningful tool for personal growth.
The workshop was fully organised and facilitated by members of SUSS Boxing IG, who volunteered and took ownership of the programme from start to finish. From warm-up routines and footwork drills to fitness exercises and cool-down activities, the students carefully structured the session to ensure it was inclusive, engaging, and beginner-friendly. Such involvements showcase strong student leadership and exemplify applied learning in action, as these students translate their passion for boxing into real-world impact.
This collaboration marks a meaningful partnership between SUSS Boxing IG and HCSA Dayspring, underscoring the value of community collaborations in extending the impact of student initiatives beyond campus walls.
