Competing across three rounds of three minutes each, the fighters poured everything they had in the ring. Their preparation was anchored by weekly training sessions led by Wei Xuan, a former SUSS Boxing captain who shaped the team’s readiness. The team was also supported by Jay, who competed and clinched a win at NUS Varsity 2024, offering guidance and encouragement drawn from his own varsity journey.

Reflecting on his bout, Marcus shared the emotional payoff of months of preparation and perseverance. “When the match ended, and I turned to my friends celebrating with me, I felt an intense sense of accomplishment and euphoria. It was incredibly satisfying to see all my hard work finally pay off.”

I was apprehensive at first, but being part of a supportive and hardworking team gave me the confidence to challenge myself. While the outcome was not what I had hoped for, the experience was deeply fulfilling and has inspired me to continue improving.”
