On 27 February 2026, members of the SUSS Boxing Interest Group (IG) were invited by Singapore Management University (SMU) Boxing to participate in a first-ever three-university joint training session held at the SMU campus. Organised by SMU, the initiative brought together student from SUSS, SMU, and SIM Boxing for a collaborative session aimed at fostering technical exchange and strengthening inter-university ties.

This event reflects a growing partnership within the local university boxing community. Through this structured and welcoming environment, SUSS Boxing IG benefitted from the valuable chance to step outside their comfort zones, train with new partners, and experience diverse coaching rhythms and styles. Beyond physical training, the session underscored a shared belief among the institutions — that boxing is more than a sport; it is a means of building discipline, resilience, and community.

During the session, participants gathered closely to observe the breakdown of combinations, footwork patterns, and defensive movements. The demonstration emphasised proper form, timing, and coordination, allowing students to better understand the mechanics behind each movement before applying them in practice. By watching the execution step-by-step, this process of observation fostered greater technical awareness and reinforced the importance of fundamentals in boxing. Students were able to reflect on their own habits, identify areas for improvement, and refine their techniques through guided practice. The interactive nature of the demonstration also created opportunities for questions and peer discussion, strengthening the exchange of knowledge across institutions.
