Through a meaningful partnership with Muhammadiyah Welfare Home, SUSS Floorball organised Sports for Good 2026, a floorball outreach programme for children and youths aged 10 to 16. The initiative provided participants with an enjoyable and enriching sporting experience while fostering teamwork, confidence, physical activity, and social connections through floorball.
Capturing our special moments together
The SUSS Floorball team carefully planned and facilitated the programme to ensure that all participants, regardless of their sporting background, could actively participate and enjoy the experience. A structured programme was developed, featuring a range of engaging and accessible activities that introduced the fundamentals of floorball while encouraging participation, learning, and teamwork.
Passion in play, impact beyond the game
The programme began with a floorball clinic, where participants were introduced to the basic skills of the sport, including passing, dribbling, ball control, and shooting. Through interactive drills and small-group activities, the children had the opportunity to practise these skills while receiving guidance and encouragement from members of the SUSS Floorball team. Beyond developing technical abilities, the activities were designed to build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.
Following the clinic, participants took part in a series of fun challenges and mini-games that allowed them to apply their newly acquired skills in an engaging and supportive environment. The programme concluded with a friendly floorball match, where participants played alongside members of the SUSS Floorball team. This gave them a chance to experience the excitement of the sport while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
Throughout the session, participants demonstrated enthusiasm and active engagement. The venue was filled with energy, laughter, and encouragement as the children supported one another and embraced the activities. Many shared that they enjoyed learning and playing floorball and expressed interest in participating again.
Participant Feedback
Feedback collected through a post-programme video reflection was overwhelmingly positive. Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn a new sport while spending time with the SUSS Floorball team in a fun and supportive environment.
Some of the comments shared by participants included:
"Floorball is actually enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to playing again."
"I'm very happy. I wish we could play more floorball again next time."
"I genuinely enjoyed the experience and hope there will be more floorball programmes like this in the future."
"I'm so grateful that you guys did this programme with us, spent time with us, had fun with us, and taught us new skills. I hope to see you guys again."
In addition, staff members from Muhammadiyah Welfare Home shared that several children continued to ask when the SUSS Floorball team would return for another session. This strong interest reflected the programme's positive impact and the meaningful connections formed between participants and student volunteers throughout the event.
SUSS Reflections
The programme was equally meaningful for the SUSS Floorball volunteers, who found the opportunity to engage with and inspire the children highly rewarding.
Aqeel, a member of the SUSS Men's Floorball Team, shared:

"It was a good event. I think we had fun interacting with the kids. It was a good experience for us to introduce them to the sport of floorball, and we hope that they will continue to pick it up in the future."
His reflection highlights how sports can serve as a platform for connecting with youth while encouraging them to explore new interests and opportunities.
Similarly, Insyirah from the SUSS Women's Floorball Team reflected on the enthusiasm displayed by the participants:

"It was really fun. Everyone was very excited and eager to play. They put in all their effort during every activity. If they could play every shift, they would. They were very polite boys, full of dreams, and it was very nice to see."
Her observations underscored the participants' eagerness to learn, positive attitudes, and genuine enjoyment throughout the programme.
Sports for Good 2026 successfully achieved its objective of introducing floorball to children and youths while creating meaningful interactions between participants and members of the SUSS Floorball team. The programme provided a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where participants could learn new skills, build confidence, and experience the positive values of sport.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants and community partner staff reflected the programme's success in fostering engagement, connection, and enjoyment. The children's enthusiasm and repeated requests for future sessions demonstrated not only a growing interest in floorball but also the meaningful relationships and lasting memories created through the programme.
Through initiatives such as Sports for Good 2026, SUSS Floorball remains committed to using sport as a platform for community engagement, social inclusion, and positive impact, while empowering students to give back through meaningful service and leadership opportunities.
