At the Centre of Excellence for Social Good (CESG), Han nurtures working partnerships across and beyond the SUSS community to do good better. He takes a collaborative approach, grounded in evidence and applicable outcomes, to develop projects that tap on academia’s strengths to add value to communities, organisations and society.

In the last 10 years, he has focused on social innovation projects as a researcher and educator, project manager, grant writer and evaluator, consultant, and facilitator. During this time, he managed projects related to social equity, development (community, human capital, enterprise, livelihood, sustainability), and sociocultural investment in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Nepal. Trained in sociology, history, heritage, and education, Han’s early career projects spanned Asia and Europe, examining social, cultural and human capital in the development of historical and contemporary societies.

Han is an alumnus of the National University of Singapore and the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. He holds graduate degrees in Asian studies from SOAS London and Columbia University, and in heritage management from the University of Cambridge. He has also completed the Advanced Certificate in Sustainability and Sustainable Businesses at SMU Academy (partnering with Global Compact Network Singapore), and the Harvard Business School course ‘Power & Influence for Positive Impact’ as a Social Innovation + Change Initiative (SICI) scholar.
