Overview

Comprising courses in demand planning and inventory management as well as supply planning, the Specialist Certificate in Supply Chain Planning equips students with the knowledge to make strategic decisions across the supply chain. Learners will explore key concepts such as supply chain frameworks, forecasting techniques, inventory control, and supply planning strategies, gaining insights into emerging trends such as digitalisation, sustainability, and resilience.

Designed for aspiring supply chain professionals and those seeking to upskill, the specialist certificate is highly relevant across industries where effective and sustainable supply chain planning drives competitive advantage and operational excellence.

Curriculum

The specialist certificate consists of 3 courses, which can be completed within 1 year.

SCM101 Supply Chain FoundationsLearn foundational skills in managing end-to-end supply chains. Apply strategic planning techniques, assess risks, and explore digital technologies. Incorporate sustainability practices such as carbon footprint management to address emerging global challenges.
SCM201 Demand Planning and Inventory ManagementDevelop skills in demand analysis, forecasting, and inventory optimisation. Apply qualitative and quantitative methods, use data analytics to enhance decision-making, and explore strategies for balancing cost and service levels under varying demand conditions.
SCM301 Supply PlanningPlan resources and production using techniques such as capacity planning, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP). Design resilient and agile supply networks, implement workflow digitalisation, and integrate sustainability principles to meet future supply chain challenges.

 

Industry Relevance

The specialist certificate is aligned with the SCM Job Transformation Map and  SCM Skills Plan from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Workforce Singapore (WSG), and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Eligibility

The specialist certificate is open to CET students as well as students enrolled in an undergraduate programme.

Fees

Please click here for the course fees. SkillsFuture Credit and other schemes may be used to offset the course fees.

The application fee is $60 (before GST) for first-time CET applications, which is non-refundable.

Completion

To attain the specialist certificate, students need to pass all the courses. Students are encouraged to complete all the courses within 3 years.

Upon meeting the requirements, CET students can apply for the certificate and go on to pursue  BSc Supply Chain Management. Only courses with at least a C grade can stack towards the bachelor's degree.

Students enrolled in the BSc Supply Chain Management will be automatically issued the certificate upon meeting the requirements.

SCM101 Supply Chain Foundations is a common course for the specialist certificates. Upon completing SCM101, CET students can attain another specialist certificate by completing the remaining courses in the certificate.
