In recognition of academic excellence and leadership potential, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) offers scholarships to outstanding new as well as existing students pursuing their graduate studies at the University.

The SUSS Research Scholarship aims to support applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence in social sciences and whose proposed research aligns with the research focus of the Singapore University of Social Sciences and expertise of our faculty.
Who is Eligible?
You must be an applicant seeking admission to one of the three Postgraduate programmes offered by SUSS, and have at least a 2nd Upper Class Honours Degree from a reputable university or equivalent qualifications. The three Postgraduate programmes are:
- The Doctor of Philosophy programme offered by the Office of Graduate Studies;
- The Doctor of Philosophy (Gerontology) offered by S R Nathan School of Human Development; and
- The Master of Applied Research in Social Sciences programme offered by School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences.
Research proposals that are relevant to the social services sector, have a clearly identified industry collaborator, and are likely to receive cash and/or in-kind support from industry will be prioritised.
Applicants’ research topics should be related to SUSS’s Research Focus.
Tenure of Scholarship
The scholarship is tenable for a maximum of four (4) years for PhD programmes and two (2) years for the master programme.
Value of Scholarship
For part-time students, the scholarship covers the tuition fee (excludes annual miscellaneous fees). For full-time students, the scholarship covers the tuition fees (excludes annual miscellaneous fees) and a monthly stipend as follows:

Note: CPF will be given on top of the stipend amounts for Singapore Citizens.
International students on scholarship shall fulfil the Graduate Assistantship Programme (GAP) requirement. Scholar will not be paid any remuneration for the hours clocked under the GAP.

How to Apply?
- Eligible applicants to the three programmes will be evaluated on a merit basis during their admissions interviews. Potential applicants for the scholarship will be identified and nominated as part of the interview process.
- SUSS will notify nominated applicants via email to attend a panel interview for the scholarship.
- The decision of the Student Awards Committee of SUSS is final and binding, and no reasons will be given for the non-selection of unsuccessful candidates. No appeals will be entertained.
Government-subsidised tuition fees are available to eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. International Students are eligible for the subsidy only if awarded the SUSS Research Scholarship. Please see the subsidy information for details.

- The Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) offered by the School of Science and Technology.
You must study full-time in the PhD programme.
You should not participate in any occupation or business during the programme, unless the prior written approval of SUSS has been obtained.
You must not be receiving another sponsorship/scholarship from any other organisations.
Tenure of Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the PhD programme, up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship covers the tuition fees, miscellaneous fees and a monthly stipend as follows:

Scholar is to provide 400 hours of teaching assistance and/or research assistance under the Graduate Assistantship Programme. Scholar will not be paid any remuneration for the hours clocked under the Graduate Assistantship Programme.

The Ali Hj Mohamed Scholarship for Community Leadership was established at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) in 2023 to honour the late Ustaz Ali Mohamed's community-focused values. A respected leader in the Malay-Muslim community, Ustaz Ali co-founded the Religious Rehabilitation Group, which offers religious counselling to detainees under the Internal Security Act, combats extremism, and addresses misinterpretations of Islamic teachings. As Emeritus President, he significantly influenced the Muslim community's religious life and contributed to Singapore's diverse society, leaving a legacy of leadership and service.
Who is Eligible?
- Students pursuing Graduate Programmes at SUSS;
- Have taken or currently taking at least one course in Community Leadership and Social Development or Non-Profit Management in the programme;
- Possess good academic and character records, demonstrate leadership qualities, and active participation in co-curricular activities and community service.
- Priority will be given to students working or actively volunteering in Social Service Agencies (SSAs) or Community Based Organisations (CBOs) in Singapore.
Tenure of Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.
Value of Scholarship
Each award is S$10,000 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following 2 semesters.

This scholarship is made possible by the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, located at 178 Waterloo Street in Singapore. Established in 1884, expanded in 1895 and renovated in 1983, the temple is a historic landmark. It actively donates to healthcare, education, poverty alleviation, promotes peaceful coexistence among religious groups, and fosters social responsibility.
Who is Eligible?
The scholarship is open to graduate students taking at least 2 relevant courses in non-profit management, community leadership and social development.
Applicants must possess outstanding academic results, strong language skills, co-curricular achievements, display leadership qualities, and actively involved in community services.
Tenure of Scholarship
Each scholarship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the full programme of study, as stipulated by the programme.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship covers up to S$15,000 and will be used to offset the tuition fees for the recipient's remaining candidature of study. No bond is attached.

Mdm Wong Lan Eng passed away in June 2014, but she lived a truly fulfilling life. While studying at Raffles College and volunteering as a teacher at Methodist Girls' School, the Japanese Occupation occurred. During this challenging time, she learnt Japanese to secure additional food rations. She then completed her studies with a scholarship; and later embarked on a fulfilling career as a geography teacher, a profession she deeply enjoyed. Mdm Wong also had a passion for cooking and loved travelling the world.
Who is Eligible?
The Wong Lan Eng Scholarship is open to new and continuing students in the Master of Management (Non-Profit Management) programme. The scholarship is awarded to high calibre individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, present excellent co-curricular activities records and exhibit outstanding leadership qualities.
New students must separately seek admission to the programme and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the scholarship.
Tenure of Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the full programme of study, as stipulated by the programme.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at $7,400 annually for 2 years (up to total $14,800). There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

The ECDA Scholarships are offered to outstanding and deserving in-service early childhood educators who wish to pursue a Bachelor or Master's degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). ECDA strongly encourages existing ECCE educators who have demonstrated strong leadership qualities and are committed to taking on larger roles in their organisations or the Early Childhood sector to apply.
How to Apply?
Download the application form from ECDA's webpage and submit it to ECDA from 1 August to 30 September. Late applications will not be accepted.
Applicants are advised to apply for both the scholarship and the programme concurrently. Applicants must secure a place in the Master of Early Childhood Education programme before they can be offered the scholarship.

The SBIZ Inclusive Fintech Scholarship for the Graduate Diploma of Financial Technology programme supports talented and driven students pursuing a Master’s degree that includes a Graduate Diploma in Financial Technology. This scholarship is designed to empower future Fintech leaders by providing access to cutting-edge knowledge, opportunities for industry collaboration, and the resources to champion financial inclusion and integration.
Who is Eligible?
- Incoming and current students in the Master of Finance programme or the Master of Management (Financial Technology) programme under the School of Business;
- Demonstrate evidence of academic excellence in Fintech related domain, such as a strong academic record or standardised test scores;
- Exhibit leadership qualities and a commitment to community service or social impact;
- Meet the language proficiency requirements of the chosen programme (e.g., English, Mandarin).
To qualify for the scholarship, incoming students must be accepted for admission into the programme.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at S$12,000 and will be used to offset the recipient’s tuition fees during the remaining candidature of study (within the normal candidature period). There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Who is Eligible?
- Be a citizen of a country other than Singapore;
- Incoming and current students in the Master’s programme under the School of Business;
- Demonstrate evidence of academic excellence, such as a strong academic record or standardised test scores;
- Exhibit leadership qualities and a commitment to community service or social impact;
- Meet the language proficiency requirements of the chosen programme (e.g., English, Mandarin).
To qualify for the scholarship, incoming students must be accepted for admission into the programme.
Tenure of Scholarship
The tenure of the scholarship is for one academic year (two semesters). There is no bond attached.
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship provides a sum of S$5,000 for partial tuition fee coverage, paid over the first two semesters of the academic programme.

SREF has been supporting S R Nathan School of Human Development (NSHD) graduate students since 2013. It supports students in selected graduate programmes such as Counselling, Gerontology, Social Work, Early Childhood Education and Adult Learning.
Who is Eligible?
You should be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident with impressive academic and co-curricular records, strong language skills, and demonstrable leadership qualities. New students must separately seek admission to the programme and be accepted before being considered for the scholarship.
Tenure of Scholarship
Each scholarship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the full programme of study, as stipulated by the programme.
Value of Scholarship
The award covers 100% course fee, capped at S$10,000, which includes course materials, examination fees, and other compulsory fees. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

The Alice Lim Memorial Fund was established by Mr Henry Lim and their sons in honour of their beloved wife and mother, the late Mrs Alice Lim. Mrs Lim dedicated her life to helping others, particularly the elderly and those less fortunate. After retiring, she became a devoted volunteer, forming meaningful connections with children at a children’s home and supporting the elderly and foreign workers. Following her passing in 2010, her family decided to use her modest estate to preserve and continue her legacy of kindness, compassion, and service to others.
Who is Eligible?
The scholarship is open to Singapore citizens or permanent residents with impressive academic and co-curricular records, strong language skills, and demonstrable leadership qualities. New students must be admitted to the programme before being considered for the scholarship.
Tenure of Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the Gerontology programme.
Value of Scholarship
S$20,000 for PhD in Gerontology and S$10,000 for Master in Gerontology. No bond attached.
