Capacity Building
Empowering Our Community who Support Our Seniors
The best person to support a senior is often someone from their own community, someone who shares their language, culture, and lived experience. That is why we empower community members to become Reminiscence Facilitators, strengthening community-based support for older adults.
Reminiscence Facilitation Training
Our structured training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on practice to confidently lead reminiscence sessions with seniors. Training is offered in English and Mandarin, and is designed to be accessible to older adults, caregivers, community workers, and individuals from vulnerable and underserved groups.
Virtual Reality Facilitator Training
Our structured training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on practice to incorporate immersive tools that enhance reminiscence sessions with seniors. Training supports facilitators in confidently integrating Virtual Reality experiences into their facilitation practice, making sessions more engaging and meaningful.
Micro-Job Programme: Meaningful Roles, Recognised Contribution
Being a Reminiscence Facilitator goes beyond volunteering. Through our Micro-Job Programme, individuals may also have the opportunity to take on remunerated facilitation roles, supporting older adults tostay socially connected, strengthening intergenerational bonds, and enriching communities through shared memories.
Join a growing community of individuals who use reminiscence to connect with older adults, share meaningful stories, and create positive impact across generations.
Community of Practice
Community of Practice is where learning is sustained through shared practice and real-world experience beyond certification. It is a vibrant space where Reminiscence Facilitators, partner organisations, and practitioners from across the region come together to share ideas, exchange experiences, and grow their practice in meaningful ways.
Through workshops, seminars, and engagement sessions, facilitation and communication skills are strengthened through real-world practice across diverse communities. This shared learning journey deepens practice, sparks new approaches, and enhances the quality and impact of reminiscence work with older adults.
