Become a Facilitator
Become a Reminiscence Facilitator
Do you enjoy listening to people? Do you have a heart for seniors? Would you like to make a meaningful difference in your community and perhaps earn a little while doing it?
Our Reminiscence Facilitation Training could be just the right fit for you.
What Is a Reminiscence Facilitator?
A Reminiscence Facilitator is someone trained to lead structured reminiscence sessions with seniors. In each session, you guide participants in sharing their memories and life stories through conversation, photos, music, or everyday objects. The goal is simple: to help seniors feel heard, connected, and engaged.
Who Is This For?
✓ Older adults aged 60 and above
✓ Caregivers looking for a meaningful way to contribute
✓ Staff from our partner organisations
✓ Anyone from a vulnerable community who wants to give back
Important Note
You should also have an interest in reminiscence facilitation, good communication skills, and be ready to commit to 12 practicum sessions
* Staff from partner organisations are not eligible for the micro-job component.
Your Training Journey
Training happens in four clear steps, designed to build your confidence at every stage.
The Micro-Job Programme
Upon successful completion of your practicum and achieving a satisfactory Mentorship Observation Rating, you may be invited to join our Micro-Job Programme, where certified facilitators can take on remunerated facilitator roles to lead reminiscence sessions within the community.
| Your Role | Lead one-hour reminiscence sessions |
| Requirement | Complete 12 practicum sessions and an additional 12 sessions after certification (total 24 sessions for first payout) |
We believe older adults and caregivers are not just people who receive support; they are valued contributors. The Micro-Job Programme is our way of recognising that.
Support Provided

Learning Resources
Facilitators have access to a growing collection of reminiscence resources including activity guides, games, conversation prompts, and interactive materials. These resources support engaging and meaningful reminiscence sessions tailored to the interests and experiences of older adults.

Gerontechnology Tools
The programme incorporates innovative gerontechnology, including Virtual Reality (VR), to enhance reminiscence experiences. VR provides an immersive way for older adults to revisit familiar places and memories, and offers an alternative approach for seniors with reduced mobility or those who may benefit from visual and sensory stimulation

Community of Practice (COP)
Facilitators become part of a supportive Community of Practice, where they can continue learning through regular workshops, networking sessions, and knowledge-sharing events. These opportunities encourage the exchange of best practices, new ideas, and experiences among facilitators and community partners.

Ongoing Support
Learning continues beyond certification. Facilitators receive ongoing support through mentorship, peer learning, and constructive feedback. This helps them build confidence, strengthen their facilitation skills and continue making a meaningful impact in their communities.
In Their Own Words
The impact of becoming a facilitator is best understood through the people it touches.
