Trainer Info
Dr. Luciana Lisa Lao is a Senior Lecturer at Nanyang Technological University with over 15 years of academic and research experience in biomaterials and biomedical engineering. She specializes in advanced biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and biomedical devices, having taught and developed courses such as Advanced Biomaterials, Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering, and Biomedical Devices.
She holds a Ph.D. in Biomaterials, Materials Engineering from NTU and a First-Class Honours degree in Materials Engineering, complemented by international research stints with renowned scientists like Prof. Nicholas Peppas and Nobel Laureate Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn. Her credentials include multiple teaching awards and a strong publication record in Tier 1 journals, making her a distinguished expert in biomedical applications and device innovation.
Holding a Master’s in Communication Engineering (NTU) and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering (University of Malaya), she brings deep technical expertise and industry insight. As an instructor at SUSS, she teaches the core module on Biomedical Devices, blending academic rigor with practical knowledge from years of hands-on experience in medtech compliance and regulatory standards.
Course Completion requirements
- Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
