Learning Outcome
- Describe statistical data.
- Define probability, mean and standard deviations for a probability distribution.
- Explain the probabilities for sample mean and proportion.
- Identify Confidence Interval for the mean and proportion of a population.
- Execute the Hypothesis Testing (both one-sample and two-samples) for the population mean and proportion population.
- Apply an Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) procedure to compare the means of independent random samples.
- Implement and fit a Linear Regression Line to a set of sample data and interpret the results.
- Interpret the results from Multiple Regression Analyses.
- Use a suitable computer software to perform data analyses according to the statistical concepts and techniques learnt from this course including data summary and presentation, probability computation, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests and linear and multiple regression analyses.
- Report and explain the outcome of a particular statistical analysis performed for decision-making.

About the Trainers
Dr Cheng Ningning is a Lecturer at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, where she teaches business statistics and quantitative methods. She holds a PhD in Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and has extensive experience delivering statistics courses that support data-driven decision-making in business contexts. Her research projects apply empirical analysis to online platform operations and healthcare policy, and her teaching focuses on helping learners develop an intuitive understanding of statistical concepts and apply them to real-world managerial problems.

A written request for a refund must be submitted and is subject to approval. If written notice of withdrawal is given within the cooling off period1 and before the course start date, a full refund of the fees paid less an administrative charge of $110.00 (exclusive of GST) will be given. No refund will be given for withdrawal thereafter.
1The cooling off period is defined as 7 working days after payment of course fee.
Completion Requirement
- Attendance: Participants must achieve at least 75% attendance.
- Assessment: Participants must sit and pass all prescribed assessments and submit all course work stipulated in the section Assessments.
- Evaluation: Participants are required to complete course evaluations conducted by SUSS and SSG at the end of the training.
