Learning Outcome
- Discuss the nature of law, the function of business law and highlight the salient features of the Singapore legal system, especially those that impact upon business activity.
- Describe how a contract is created, performed and discharged, and provide examples of common contracts in the business environment.

About the Trainers
Mr Cheng Kwang Hwee has experience as a trained lawyer and is currently working in academia. He is currently a senior lecturer in the School of Business at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). He teaches business law and management courses at SUSS. Before joining SUSS, Mr. Cheng Kwang Hwee has worked as legal counsel at the Info-Communications Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), Ascendas Group as well as Wong Partnership LLP. He holds a Master of Business Administration (with specialisation in real estate) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore. He is admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and is also an associate member of the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore (CSIS).

A written request for a refund must be submitted and is subject to approval. If written notice of withdrawal is given within the cooling off period1 and before the course start date, a full refund of the fees paid less an administrative charge of $110.00 (exclusive of GST) will be given. No refund will be given for withdrawal thereafter.
1The cooling off period is defined as 7 working days after payment of course fee.
Completion Requirement
- Attendance: Participants must achieve at least 75% attendance.
- Assessment: Participants must sit and pass all prescribed assessments and submit all course work stipulated in the section Assessments.
- Evaluation: Participants are required to complete course evaluations conducted by SUSS and SSG at the end of the training.
