Synopsis

Business product and service innovations are essential for competitive advantage in the digital world where product and service life cycles are becoming shorter. BUS368 Innovation Management and Digital Transformation aims to help students gain an understanding in product and service innovation management in the context of business and social services. The topics include different forms of innovation, the role of new product/service management, the new product development process, managing intellectual property, organisation knowledge, strategic alliances, R&D and technology transfers, the role of innovation in digital transformation, knowledge management and contemporary developments.

About the Trainers

Dr Bowen Zhou holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Organisation from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University. His research spans innovation, digitalisation, and family business. He is currently a Lecturer in the Business Programme at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Prior to joining SUSS, he served as a Research Fellow at the Business Families Institute (BFI) at Singapore Management University, where his work combined empirical research with practice-oriented insights on business families and strategic adaptation. His research agenda bridges strategic management and emerging digital technologies, examining how firms navigate innovation and AI-driven transformation across diverse organisational contexts.

A written request for a refund must be submitted and is subject to approval. If written notice of withdrawal is given within the cooling off period1 and before the course start date, a full refund of the fees paid less an administrative charge of $110.00 (exclusive of GST) will be given. No refund will be given for withdrawal thereafter.

1The cooling off period is defined as 7 working days after payment of course fee.


Completion Requirement

  • Attendance: Participants must achieve at least 75% attendance.
  • Assessment: Participants must sit and pass all prescribed assessments and submit all course work stipulated in the section Assessments.
  • Evaluation: Participants are required to complete course evaluations conducted by SUSS and SSG at the end of the training.
Students who achieve at least 75% attendance and meet the course completion requirements will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. For those who do not meet the course requirements, a Certificate of Participation will be issued instead.
