- Illustrate the operation principles of radar systems.
- Estimate the probabilities of detection and false alarm, pulse repetition frequency, transmit power, received power, observation time, range, range resolution and other radar system parameters.
- Examine the antenna parameters and system losses in radar.
- Solve radar signal detection problems.
- Plan a strategy for radar signal detection and tracking.
- Test the operations of radar using Labvolt system.

Trainer Info
Dr David Hee is a Senior Lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic, with extensive experience spanning engineering education, applied electromagnetics, and wireless system design. He holds a PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK, and brings deep expertise in RF antennas, computational electromagnetics, EMI/EMC, radar, and 5G/AIoT systems. Prior to academia, Dr. Hee held senior engineering and leadership roles in defence, automotive electronics, and telecommunications industries, including antenna and RF system development. He is committed to bridging rigorous engineering theory with real‑world industrial applications in his teaching and research.
Course Completion requirements
- Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
