Synopsis

FMT313 Building Information Modeling for Facilities Management provides an overview of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and how it can be applied to facilities management. The objective of the course is to enable the undergraduates to read and navigate the BIM software, and to impart knowledge of best building information modeling practices and techniques to improve facilities management practices such as venue and space management.

Trainer Info

Mr Richard Sugandha is a built-environment technologist and entrepreneur, and the Co-Founder & CEO of Twinlogic Pte Ltd. He specializes in BIM-enabled digital twins for facilities management, helping organizations structure, visualize, and operationalize building and asset data across the lifecycle. Richard has worked extensively with public and private asset owners across the Asia-Pacific region and is an experienced lecturer and guest speaker on BIM for FM, digital twins, and smart asset strategies, with a strong focus on practical adoption and real-world outcomes.


Mr Whiz Chua is an experienced lecturer in the Built Environment, currently teaching across university, specialist diploma, and polytechnic programmes. He is actively engaged as a technical consultant and advisor in renewable energy, smart factory systems, facilities management platforms, BIM/FM integration, chemical recycling, and smart city initiatives across Asia. He brings extensive leadership experience from professional institutes and national committees, including strategy, innovation, professional development, BIM-FM integration, and design-for-maintainability frameworks. He has also served on national competition judging panels and held executive leadership roles overseeing global smart city consulting, design & operations.


Mr Farhan Imran is a structural engineer and infrastructure advisor with over 14 years of experience delivering major projects across global markets. He began his career in structural engineering, contributing to several landmark developments and building a strong technical foundation. His transition into infrastructure advisory expanded his expertise into business continuity, asset management, and risk based decision making, while also enabling him to lead digital solution development for clients throughout the Built Environment lifecycle. Drawing on deep knowledge of structural design, BIM, and digital technologies, he helps organizations maximize the value of their assets from concept to operations. Farhan also serves as an adjunct lecturer at the BCA Academy (Singapore) and other institutes of higher learning, teaching BIM implementation and strategic adoption across all project phases.

 

Course Completion requirements

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
