Trainer Info
Dr Lim Tiek Whai is a senior consultant in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. Having previously served as Chief of the Department of Anesthesia, Dr Lim currently leads the Department of Intensive Care and serves as Clinical Director for the Quality, Risk and Safety Office at Woodlands Hospital, NHG.
During the early years of practice, Dr Lim was involved in modernizing intensive care services and developed an appreciation for the importance of quality and safety in clinical care. This experience led to an interest in human factors approaches in healthcare, which then informed the implementation of safety culture initiatives within organizations and the creation of safety nets such as ICU outreach surveillance systems. These principles continue to guide both clinical practice and departmental leadership.
