Synopsis

ICT335, Cloud Computing: Business Case and Technical Models, is meant to provide an overview of the field of Cloud Computing and provide a framework for selecting the optimal combination of cloud technology to meet business requirements. Students will learn the essential characteristics of Cloud Computing, examine why cloud computing is changing IT services across the Internet, and explain how Cloud Computing’s flexibility can lower costs, increase service to deliver a new business model for both users and providers of Internet-based services. The framework includes business model drivers, technical theory, and comparison to historical alternatives. In addition, students will build a working technical knowledge of Cloud Computing, including use of virtualization software.

Trainer Info

Mr Ning Wei is a highly experienced cloud solution architect with over 20 years in the ICT industry, specializing in public and private cloud architectures, cloud adoption, governance, security, and large‑scale enterprise implementation. As a Microsoft Azure Technical Trainer, he possesses deep expertise across Azure infrastructure, migration, DevOps, containers, and application architecture. His strong background in cloud strategy and system integration enables him to connect cloud technologies to business needs. He is also a Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

Mr John Lim is an accomplished IT educator and industry leader with over 20 years of global experience in computer networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT systems. Since 2019, he has taught ICT courses at SUSS, leveraging his deep expertise in system administration, cloud computing, networking, and security. His background includes serving as Head of Learning & Product Management at Cisco, where he led global curriculum development and trained over 20,000 instructors across 170 countries. With extensive certifications, John brings strong technical mastery and pedagogical experience to ICT teaching.

Ms Lina Yang is an experienced infosecurity and cloud professional with strong expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity governance, network security, and cloud service operations. She teaches Cloud Computing courses at different IHLs, bringing hands‑on experience with AWS and Huawei Cloud. Her background includes designing and deploying cloud‑network security infrastructures, implementing ISO27001 governance, and leading incident response and vulnerability management. As an AWS Certified Solutions Architect and SysOps Administrator, she brings practical cloud architecture knowledge highly relevant to the course.

 


Course Completion requirements

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
