Synopsis

The workplace of the future is a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous place. With the evolution of Industry 4.0, design innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, internet of things (IoT) and big data are rapidly changing the fundamental nature of how people live and work. Companies need to understand the impact of these changes on contemporary work practices and design a secure future workplace amidst this digital disruption. This course examines organizational work design strategies that businesses, employees and designers can adopt to find new opportunities in the changing market landscape.

Trainer info

Associate Professor Jimmy Wong is the Head of the Master of Management programme in the School of Business at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), where he plays a key role in shaping postgraduate management education and preparing future-ready leaders. He holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MBA (Honours), and a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University. His academic career spans roles at SUSS, ESSEC Business School Asia Pacific, Monash University, and the University of Illinois, complemented by earlier industry experience. His research and teaching focus on marketing, consumer behaviour, artificial intelligence, and service robots in business contexts. Prof. Wong is widely published in leading international journals, actively collaborates with industry partners to bridge practice and theory, and has received multiple teaching awards for his commitment to excellence in education.

 

Course Completion requirements

Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
