Synopsis

This course offers a remarkable learning opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn from the success stories of established industry leaders in China. It aims to provide an insight into their management, innovation and development strategies, offering participants valuable hands-on experience and practical knowledge. The whole course consists of two key components: corporate immersion and case studies. During the immersion trip, participants will visit companies, engaging with various aspects, including corporate culture, management mode, product development, marketing, customer experience, etc. They will also have the chance to network with the founders or executives. In case studies, participants will utilize the visited companies as cases to gain a deeper understanding of product innovation, management skills and entrepreneurial mindset. This multifaceted course promises a transformative learning experience for aspiring entrepreneurs.

 

The course is a collaborative effort with Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (TPIHK).

Objectives

This course is to promote learning exchanges and business contacts between Chiu Chow entrepreneurs in China and Singapore by visiting Chiu Chow businesses in China. It aims to broaden the business, strategy and leadership thinking of the entrepreneur participants by discussing and interacting with mentors based on the cases of the visited companies, and to have an insight into product development technology and new product user experience and able to apply the knowledge and skills from the success story to their own business.

 



A. Knowledge and Understanding (Theory Component)

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understanding corporate excellence and develop a deep understanding of corporate culture, management modes, and the key drivers behind business success stories.
  • Gain insights into entrepreneurship and innovation from industry leaders, enabling a grasp of key concepts and strategies in these areas.



B. Key Skills (Practical Component)

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Apply practical skills and techniques based on discussions and translate knowledge and skills from successful corporate experiences into practical applications for their own businesses.
  • Establish and execute action plans and strategies that are in line with the organization's long-term objectives.

Course Fee

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
  • The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
  • Singapore University of Social Sciences reserves the right to amend and/or revise the above schedule without prior notice.

Course Withdrawal and Refund

Request for withdrawal from a course must be submitted to SUSS Academy formally in writing.

  • Course Withdrawal before Application Close Date: No charges.
  • Course Withdrawal after course confirmation: 50% of the full course fee with an administration fee imposed.
  • Course Withdrawal after the course commences: Full course fee applies.
