The SUSS Spirit Award recognises current Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) students who exemplify 'Heart' in our educational philosophy of 'Head, Heart and Habit'.
The award honours SUSS students who are stewards of social good; demonstrating people-oriented, social-centric values.
Award winners are expected to demonstrate excellence in at least one of the following three categories of attributes:
(a) character strength;
(b) willingness to help others; and
(c) social change leadership.
The SUSS Spirit Award is not open for self-nomination. Instead, we welcome nominations from students, faculty, staff, industry and community partners (e.g. those offering work attachments, community engagement opportunities etc.) working directly with our students.
Up to ten cash awards valued at S$2,500 each will be given for the academic year, subject to the quality of nominations. The award can be used to offset awardees' tuition fees.
Award winners are expected to fulfil responsibilities such as being featured (on publicity platforms) and serving as SUSS ambassadors and volunteers at SUSS events.
Nominations for 2026 have officially closed.
The SUSS Spirit Award recipients will be announced in July 2026 and will receive their award at the SUSS Scholarship Award Ceremony. The decision of the award recipients by the selection panel is final.
Refer to our Frequently Asked Questions if you need clarifications. For further enquiries, please contact SUSS Service-Learning at [email protected].
