Andragogy for Impact: A Biennial Conference Series on Adult Learning Futures

Vision

Abbreviated as “AnfI”, Andragogy for Impact is a biennial international conference series dedicated to reimagining adult learning as a catalyst for transformation across individuals, work, and societies. It connects educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to co-create new models of learning that are ethical, inclusive, and future-ready.

At its heart, the series seeks to deepen understanding of how people across ages learn, drawing on cognitive, socio-emotional, socio-economic and sociocultural perspectives. It also examines the mediators and challenges that shape adults’ learning endeavours, and the impetus for learning at different phases of life. Crucially, it offers evidenced support for the effectiveness and impact of andragogical methods by correlating them with outcomes in employment, employer perspectives, skills and competencies mapping, reskilling effectiveness, and other parameters. By uncovering these foundations of adult learning, the series supports the design of effective work-learn models that bridge education and industry, strengthen employability, and contribute to national economic resilience.

AnfI 2026

Theme: Adult Learning: Reimagining, Reinventing, Transforming

Tagline: From tradition to transformation: a new vision for adult learning

The inaugural edition explores how adult learning can be re-envisioned to bridge education and industry, strengthen learning infrastructures, and cultivate intergenerational learning. By foregrounding human-centred approaches to technology and AI as part of a broader agenda for transformation, it includes focused inquiry into how adults learn from cognitive, socio-emotional, and sociocultural perspectives; the factors that enable or hinder learning; and the motivations that drive learning in different phases of adult life. These insights form the basis for rethinking learning design and ecosystem transformation.
