Overview
This programme integrates essential pedagogical knowledge and skills tailored to practicing teachers as well as those interested in sport, physical education and outdoor education. Courses in this programme are designed to provide a broad spectrum of theoretical knowledge, as well as practical skills that are essential for the work place.
Developed in consultation with the Physical Education and Sports Teacher Academy (PESTA) and experts in physical education (PE), the programme has been benchmarked to programmes in the top universities offering sports and physical education The programme comprises the key sport science and sport management courses, and has the flexibility to allow students to choose not only courses in various areas including sport coaching, teaching physical education and sports, and outdoor education, but also a minor study of their choice.
You may pursue Sports and Physical Education as a single major or in combination with a minor.

There is a broad spectrum of career opportunities. Depending on their chosen focus area of study, graduates will be well placed to pursue careers in areas such as physical education, outdoor education, sport & physical activity, fitness & health, leisure & recreation, sport business, sport marketing, sport management, sport communication, technology applications in sport, and digital media in sport.
Programme Structure
Students are required to complete a total of 130 credit units (cu) to graduate with a basic degree, inclusive of 20 cu of SUSS Core courses.
The breakdown of the cu to be completed is:
- 20 cu of SUSS Core courses
- 40 cu of Major Compulsory courses
- 40 cu of Major Elective courses
- 30
cu of Free Electives or Minor

Admission Requirements
General Admission Criteria:
Refer to general admission criteria for undergraduate programmes.
Additional Degree Specific Requirements:
- Sport-Related Diploma from local polytechnics or the National Institute of Education
- Non-Sport-Related Diploma from local polytechnics; GCE 'A' Level with two passes (prior to 2006) or two H2 passes (from 2006); International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma; or NUS High School Diploma; or equivalent1 and with
- a) demonstrated sport competencies (e.g., competitive sports experience at school, polytechnic, club or national level) or
- b) relevant sport-related work experience;
Note: Additional assessment for admission on a case-by-case basis may be required.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Health Memo and, if necessary, supplementary forms;
- CV in the prescribed format.
1 Acceptable qualifications: Diploma from LASALLE College of the Arts; Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA); National Institute of Education; and ITE Work-Study Diploma. Other Diploma qualifications (e.g., Advanced Diploma, Specialist Diploma, Conversion Diploma) plus an acceptable SAT or ACT (with Writing) score may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis

In addition to the financial aid schemes available to all students from the Singapore University of Social Sciences, there are study awards grants which are open to Bachelor of Sports and Physical Education students. They are as follows:
